The Hobbit

"The Hobbit" is a great-but long-book that stars Bilbo Baggins (the hobbit),
Gandalf (a wizard), and a band of dwarves. Gandalf comes to Bilbo's house
and asks him to go on a quest  for the dwarves, but Bilbo wants to stay in
his cozy home. Finally, Bilbo went on the quest: Defeat Smaug the dragon!!!!!
It is an exciting read, so I hope you enjoy it!!!(NOT recommended for ages 7 and below.)

Doll Bones

This book called "Doll Bones" is a little scary, but I think it is a good read.
Its all about 3 kids that like to play a game with action figures, and the Queen
of all of the action figures is a bone china doll that sits in a cabinet that seems to
be watching everything...They soon find out that the china doll is actually made
of the human bones of a girl. The ghost of the girl brings them on a quest to return
her to her grave. This ghost story sure is painting a picture in my mind. That, or
making a doll out of this story.....

Introduction and Sample Review

Welcome to SKR Book Reviews!

Here's a place to learn about new books for kids that are recommended BY KIDS!

The first post is written by an adult (sorry) but it's just an example...it's seriously out of date just to show you how out-of-touch adult reviews can be...

Book Review #1

Harry Potter and the Sorcer's Stone by J.K. Rowling

This book was the beginning of an awesome series about witches and warlocks and humans (known as muggles).  The lead character, Harry Potter, travels through a mysterious train station to attend a school of magic and learns more than he ever expected!  It has adventure and fun.  It is not too scary but I would not read it to anyone under 5 years old.  You probably wouldn't want to anyway, it has hundreds of pages.  I have read that this book is great on tape and would be a good thing to listen to on a long road trip.
